SaraMax makes Wal-Mart DSDC list with Pick to Light

Client:  SaraMax Apparel Group is one of the largest privately held branded and private label undergarment manufacturers in the United States.

Challenge:  As a supplier to Wal-Mart, SaraMax adheres to strict vendor guidelines related to delivery schedules and accuracy, and desired the honor and benefits of making Wal-Mart’s DSDC (direct store distribution center) list. To make this list, SaraMax needed to double capacity, and improve turnaround time and accuracy significantly. Meeting these criteria with their then current paper-based practices would have required SaraMax to incur significant labor costs.

Solutions:  Upon evaluating several options, SaraMax selected AL Systems Order Management, Pick to Light and Order Auditing solution to maximize picking capacity and accuracy.

Results:  Today, SaraMax processes over 75,000 units per shift at a continued accuracy rate of approximately 99.75% before auditing. Using six audit stations, SaraMax audits between 10%-50% of orders; all orders are effectively fulfilled at 100%. Furthermore, only three months after implementation, SaraMax was chosen to Wal-Mart’s DSDC list.
