Pack to Light delivers 50% productivity increase on the first day at J.Jill

Client:  J. Jill is a multi-channel retailer of women’s clothing and accessories with over 220 stores nationwide.

Challenge:  J.Jill faced rapid demand growth which could only be accommodated by adding more labor in their then current RF packing operation. They were looking for a solution that would help fulfill more stores with fewer people, require minimal labor retraining, and integrate with existing Material Handling equipment without significant modifications.

Solution:  AL Systems Order Management and Pack to Light solution was selected after a thorough and intensive market analysis, wherein J.Jill ROI-evaluated four Pack to Light vendors. The solution incorporated over 350 Light Display Modules, which were mounted onto existing shelving, managed by a scalable software platform designed to accommodate future expansion. This low impact approach achieved all of J.Jill’s objectives: fast time to install, maintained a familiar order fulfillment look and feel to minimize retraining, and minimized Material Handling modifications.

Results:  The high-throughput solution was implemented by AL Systems two weeks ahead of schedule and resulted in a 50% productivity increase on the very first day of use.
