Sortation Systems Control drives over 350K units/day at Gymboree

Client:  Gymboree is a leading children’s clothing retailer with over 1,000 retail stores, and rapidly growing online stores, offering unique, high-quality products.

Challenge:  Gymboree needed a solution to keep up with their growing store base and online business.  Their then current operation was manually intensive and prone to errors.

Solution:  To keep pace with growing demands, Gymboree implemented a solution from AL Systems comprised of the DynaPro Warehouse Control System and Order Management for workload planning and optimization, exception handling, and order auditing, along with High Speed Sortation Control and Print and Apply Labeling. The flexibility designed into this solution allows Gymboree to process duplicate routes simultaneously or all stores at once, while the Productivity Management and Reporting tools enable them to track production activity by individual worker and zone. 

Results:  The solution enabled Gymboree to turn store orders in under 24 hours at over 99.7% accuracy with cartons filled to capacity to optimize shipping costs. The flexibility of processes allows them to adapt to surges in volume without additional labor costs. They now process over 350,000 units per day!
